This is a 9 week class on Tuesday nights at 6:30PM - 7:30PM Starting
January 4th to March 29th 2011 Cost for this session is $96.00. This equates to only $10.66 a class
Drop ins are welcome at a cost of $12.00 each class.
If you are just curious, new, or looking for something to do this class is perfect for you.
This Pre-Registration based shake it up class is designed to help you better understand the movements that create the structure of belly dance. Teaching techniques through isolations and muscular training we will focus on movement break downs so that you begin with the correct techniques to perform any of the common moves, such as upper body undulations , chest circles, hip circles, drops & shimmies'. This all adds up to a great workout, however the goal of the class is proper technique and to prepare you for the next level of belly dance.
Class attire is fitted comfortable clothes. No skirts so as instructor can see the knees and lower back position.
Example: Full fitted or half coverage top (as to see tummy) Yoga pant, Stretchy pant, or shorts with or without hip scarf or coin belt and bare feet. Hip scarves are available to purchase.

This class is ideal in your 1st year of learning, however you can stay in this level until all the fundamental movements are comfortable to you. You will always come away with something new from week-to-week, session-to-session, year-to-year. No prior dance experience is necessary for this class. Pre-Registration based class...

Artstreet 2010 - August 28 & 29 in Green Bay

We'll be dancing at Artstreet in Green Bay again this year! Last year was a blast, even with the rain ALL DAY on Sunday. We're hoping for coolish, but not rainy weather for this year's event!

Since we're dancing from 10-6 on Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday, you'll have plenty of chances to see us. (And we'll get some amazing workouts! Hope we've got some shimmy left by the afternoon on Sunday! *grin*) Not sure right now exactly where our booth will be, but that just means we'll be a happy surprise as you go roaming around, looking at all the amazing art and craftworks!

Booth location change for this week's Green Bay Farmers' Market

We've been excited to be part of the Farmers' Market on Broadway in Green Bay again this year! We've had a great time dancing and meeting people. It's been HOT though!

Navah Mirage's tent has usually been down at the south end of Broadway near the Red Awning and Sassy Girl (both great stores, BTW!). However, we've learned that this week, we'll be in a different location - on the east half of the cross street (Hubbard).

So, if you come looking for us this week, now you'll know where to find us! Hope to see you there!

Von Stiehl Winery's 2010 Ladies Festival

We were so fortunate to be asked to be part of von Stiehl Winery's 2010 Ladies Festival yesterday in Algoma, WI!

It was a beautiful (if hot) day for dancing, and many thanks to all the women who watched, cheered us on, or hopped into our tent for a brief lesson in the fun art of belly dance!

Thanks so much for letting us be part of such a fabulous day!

Bellies and Bongos!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. We were very busy with our part in the Appleton Park & Recreation dance recital, and then took a bit of a break in March.

But April is extra exciting, since we've been dancing with the drum circle at Oshkosh Rhythm Institute this month! Robin's been gracious enough to let us join them and dance with the community drum circle on Wednesday evenings, and it's so different and wonderful to dance to live drumming!

So, if you're in the area, feel free to join us there any Wednesday this month... or to take part in the drum circle ANY Wednesday! It's great fun and great energy!

WFRV Sunday Morning appearance for Arti Gras

We had a wonderful time at Arti Gras last Saturday! Our troupe enjoyed getting to perform our solos and group dances for a whole hour. Thanks to everyone who came!

We were also fortunate to be asked to be part of WFRV's Sunday Morning show. So, some of our troupe woke up bright and early and danced. Thanks to Hilary, the great crew with WFRV, and our own "support crew." Didn't catch us then? *grin* Well, here you go anyway!

Day of Dance - Saturday, February 6, 2010

February 6th is going to be a busy day for us! Not only has Navah Mirage been invited to dance at Arti Gras in Green Bay from 10:00-11:00 am, but since our troupe leader teaches with the Appleton Parks and Recreation Department, we've also got their Day of Dance that day!

The Appleton Parks and Recreation Department Dance Instructors are holding a Day of Dance event Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 1-4 pm at the City Center Studios, on the second floor of the City Center Plaza in downtown Appleton. For only $5 for the entire afternoon, people ages 8-adult can try out up to 6 different classes - ballet, jazz, hip hop, Tappercize, belly dance, and Zumba! Sessions run for 25 minutes each. Belly dance is from 1:30 -1:55 pm in Studio II and from 3:00 - 3:35 pm in Studio I.

No experience necessary, just wear tennis shoes or dance shoes and clothes that are comfortable to move in! Prizes and demos run throughout the afternoon. Arti Gras - February 6th

Happy New Year to all of you! We here at Navah Mirage wish you a wonderful 2010 filled with love, laughter, and dancing!

Speaking of dancing, we've been invited to perform at Arti Gras at Shopko Hall in Green Bay on February 6th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. We're very excited to share our belly dance with you, and will likely be performing our dance using our flashy gold Wings of Isis for the first time in public! You won't want to miss that!
